MIPI I3C Solutions

Unmatched Expertise with MIPI I3C

We've been deeply investing in our MIPI I3C expertise over the past few years, which has lead to the release of I3C tools that we've developed internally, which are already in daily use at over 175+ companies working with I3C and are among the most mature I3C test tools available on the market today.

Binho is a MIPI Alliance Contributor-level member since 2023 and actively participates in the on-going development of the I3C specification through our involvement in the MIPI Alliance I3C Working Group, where our founder, Jonathan Georgino, currently serves as the co-vice chair.

I3C Protocol Analyzer

Binho brings MIPI I3C Protocol support to your favorite debugging tool!

We've worked closely with our friends at Saleae to develop a premium analyzer for the MIPI I3C protocol that comes with full specialized technical support from our team of I3C experts. Publicly available since June 2022 and exercised heavily at the past four MIPI I3C Plugfests -- we're quite confident that it's one of the most mature I3C test tools available on the market today.

Support for MIPI I3C v1.0, v1.1.1, and v1.2 specifications. Ideally suited for JESD300-5, NVMe-MI / MCTP over I3C, or general I3C bus applications. Datasheet [PDF]

I3C USB Host Adapter

Getting up and running with I3C has never been easier. Featuring support for MIPI I3C Protocol v1.0, v1.1.1, and v1.2, the Supernova offers an unmatched value proposition in the test tool market.

The Binho Supernova USB Host Adapter allows one to interface their computer directly to hardware circuits. The device can operate as an I3C Controller or I3C Target, supporting SDR mode and HDR-DDR mode transactions.

Our solution comes with a full suite of cross-platform software including point-and-click GUI, python library, and C/C++ SDK. Datasheet [PDF]

Advising & Engineering Services

Our industry-leading I3C tools shown above are the most publicly-visible manifestation of our involvement with MIPI I3C, whereas a core component of our business is providing consulting services and custom development work.

As the only entity that's engaged with so many I3C adopters, we have quite a unique view of what all the major players in the industry are doing, and we're also aware of the quirks and nuances that certain IPs (and, in some cases, hardened implementations) present with. While this is something outside of the official I3C specification, the reality is that these implementations are in the real-world with some big-name vendors and therefore should be accounted for when making design decisions regarding your own implementation.

We've had many successful engagements with companies at all stages of the process, from early phases of exploration & evaluation of I3C for their applications, all the way through the implementation & validation for those deeper into the adoption process. We also have helped a few teams understand how to best market their I3C-capable solutions as well as support their customers integrating their solutions / train their FAEs.

Whether you're considering I3C for inclusion in your product, faced with questions regarding which protocol features are critical to success of your implementation, need help verifying / troubleshooting your implementation, need help with firmware/device drivers, or internal training to prepare FAEs and marketing team to capitalize on the value of your innovative implementation, we can help!

While the details of most of these engagements are under NDA, several of them have manifested publicly:

  • Microchip's PIC18F16Q20 Curiosity Nano Development Kit includes 45-Day license for our I3C Protocol Analyzer
  • STMicro's application note AN5879 Introduction to I3C for STM32 MCUs, featuring decoded waveforms from our I3C protocol analyzer
  • Microchip Try's interactive I3C demo of their PIC18F16Q20 I3C-Target, which features our Supernova USB to I3C controller
  • Our I3C Target Board accessory which is designed specifically to support Bosch's official Shuttle 2.0 form-factor eval boards for their MEMS sensors product line up.
