Renesas Launches PMIC for DDR5 DIMMs With I3C Support

Published on Apr 30, 2022

With I3C being the standard for DDR5 management, it only makes sense that the ecosystem of supporting components also adopt I3C as their primary communication interface. Renesas therefore took the logic step of introducing their P8900 PMIC, designed specifically for powering typical DDR5 RDIMM, DDR5 LRDIMM and DDR5 NVDIMM applications, with the capability to communicate on I3C. Of course, it can fall back to I2C for applications which aren't ready for I3C.

Details, tech specs, and the product datasheet can all be found on Renesas' product page.
